Call early if you want a creekside site.
Some sites are not as roomy as others are for a travel trailer, and most of the sites are electric only. There are some full hookups, but they seem to be long-term only. There is a dump station and well water. Mountain bike trails are very nice and well maintained.
Pond for swimming is also on-site. Small camp store on-site, and Ruby General is down the road for beer, pizza, or other basic grocery items. Clearwater Campground is less than an hour northeast of Sterling Heights. It has shaded sites and offers planned activities on the weekends. This Sterling Heights campground is family owned and operated. It features family-oriented outdoor recreation activities and provides a respite from the city in a beautiful wooded area with a acre lake. The petting farm is great— love the new goats. They have a long path that goes around their lake that is always relaxing to either walk or ride your bike on.
The people that run this place will bend over backward to help you in whatever way you need, such as late arrivals, firewood, suggestions for stuff in town, etc. It features a acre lake that was created from seven small lakes when a dam was built. The lake is beautiful, and there are many activities available. This RV campground near Sterling Heights, Michigan is just 10 minutes from mini golf, ice cream, and shopping.
I love all the different places that you can go and discover. The main area where the beach is located is very nice. A perfect place to go fishing and explore the water in a canoe! It has a lake for fishing and swimming. Unlike some state parks, you can stay in Groveland Oaks for up to a month.
It is not a resort-style Sterling Heights campsite, but it has everything you need for a great vacation and a comfortable stay. There is an on-site grill for meals and snacks. There are many activities for everyone to enjoy. Multiple playgrounds, playscapes, bike path, and a nice beach. Several boat rental options at very affordable rates. The fishing was better than expected.
Bring a net! We lost a 3-foot pike right at the boat. The facilities were clean and in great working order. We would definitely recommend and will be returning often as it is only an hour from metro Detroit. It is near many RV parks that offer features and amenities for you and your family to have a great time.
